India successfully tests nuclear-capable Agni-5 missile
India on June 3, 2018 successfully test-fired indigenously developed nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni-5 from the Integrated Test Range on Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island, previously known as Wheeler Island.
The long-range surface-to-surface missile with a strike range of 5,000 km was fired from a mobile launcher off the Odisha coast. All the radars, electro-optical tracking stations and telemetry stations tracked the vehicle all through the course of the trajectory.

49th Conference of Governors begins in Delhi
The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the two-day Conference of Governors on June 4, 2018 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. This is the 49th such Conference to be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan and the second to be presided over by President Kovind.
The conference will involve discussions on important agendas including clean India mission, internal security, higher education and skill development. It will also involve discussions on important thematic issues in various sessions.
International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression observed
International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression was observed globally on June 4, 2018.
The main objective of the day is to acknowledge the pain suffered by children throughout the world who are the victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse. The day affirms the UN’s commitment to protecting the rights of children.
In recent years, the number of violations against children has increased in many conflict zones.

RBI organizes ‘Financial Literacy Week’
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is organizing ‘Financial Literacy Week’ across the nation from June 4 to June 8, 2018.
The week will focus on four consumer protection messages like ‘know your liability’ for unauthorized electronic banking transaction and good practices for a safe digital banking experience. Among various messages, the customers will be told through banners and posters that in case of unauthorized digital transaction if the bank is informed within 3 days, the liability of the account holder is zero.
Confine illegal Rohingyas to designated camps: Centre to states
The Centre has asked Jammu & Kashmir and other states to confine illegal Rohingya settlers to pre-identified locations within their respective jurisdictions, record their personal particulars, including biometric details and not to issue them Aadhaar number or any other identity proof.
The meticulous preparation of their personal particulars has been sought so that these details can eventually be shared with Myanmar for likely repatriation.
